Andrei Mongush

Andrei Mongush is a Tyvan throat singer, artist and music teacher. He has been a member of the bands Chirgilchin and Hüün Hüür-Tü. He has also performed solo, for example in Viljandi folk in 2009.

Andrei Mongush's own band is called Högzümchü, "Musician". During the last two years, Högzümchü has given a number of performances in Russia and abroad, including an appearance before the Dalai Lama at the first annual “Festival of Buddhist Culture of Russia and Mongolia” in India (2007), and the annual “Üstüü-Hüre” world music festival in Chadaana, Tuva (2008).

In 2009, Högzümchü performed at the ethnic and rock music festival “Ocean of Compassion” in the Republic of Kalmykia, the charity concert “Ocean of Compassion” in Moscow, and the international symposium “Mongl Xöömei” in Mongolia, and in USA last October.
